The Health AdvisorSM program focuses on member engagement and empowerment across the full spectrum of health. Our experts engage members early on in their health experience to provide valuable personalized health and wellness coaching and resources. For healthy members, this means finding guidance and information that can help them make the most of their health benefits. And for those members with more complicated health issues, an advisor can provide the support they need to achieve their health-related goals.

How it Works
Guidance and Expertise When They Need it Most
Health advisors are trained to help members navigate the health care system efficiently, helping them make the most of their benefits, use resources appropriately, and make informed health-related decisions.
Once contacted, the program begins with an assessment of the member’s overall health status, health attitudes and behavior, and readiness to change. An assigned advisor will then help the member, using a variety of programs and resources such as employer wellness and behavioral programs. If needed, health advisors may also refer the member to disease management and case management programs.
Going forward, the member has the option of maintaining a one-on-one ongoing relationship with the health advisor, making it easier to discuss health-related needs as things happen over time.

Early Prevention and Increased Engagement
Through proactive engagement, Health Advisors reach members earlier in the treatment decision-making process, increasing our ability to help them make more informed decisions about cost, quality and healthy behaviors. In doing so, the Health Advisor program helps improve employee health and productivity and reduce related workplace and health costs.
